4th Circular, November 2021

Dear colleagues

As stated in the 3rd circular we were forced to postpone the conference from January to May due to the 4th wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is our pleasure to now announce new dates for the 35th Nordic Geological Winter Meeting. The meeting will take place on site in Reykjavík, Iceland from the 11th to the 13th of May 2022 on the campus of the University of Iceland in Reykjavík.

As the meeting will take place in May, we would like to use the opportunity to add additional field excursions to the meeting. We cannot promise a live eruption in May, but we will have a field excursion to the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption site on the Reykjanes Peninsula on Tuesday May 10th. Two additional three-day field excursions are also planned after the conference on the 14th of May; one along the south coast of Iceland, and another one to the Borgarfjörður and Snæfellsnes peninsula. More detailed information will be provided in January.

Registration and abstract submission will open on the 15th of January 2022. Additional information about the meeting, the field excursion, and travel arrangements will be available on the homepage www.jfi.is/ngwm_2022 on the 15th of January 2022.

On our homepage (www.jfi.is/ngwm_2022) we show themes and sessions for the meeting. If there are any questions, please send an email to Þorsteinn Sæmundsson (steinis@hi.is).

We look forward to meet you in person here in Reykjavík in May.
